In the polyurethane industry, a distinction is made between low-pressure and high-pressure metering machines. In high-pressure polyurethane machines, axial piston pumps, such as a Bosch Rexroth A7VK, are most commonly used.
Since some of the pumped media can harden in contact with atmospheric humidity or be toxic, the use of a magnetic coupling is recommended. The magnetic coupling hermetically seals the axial piston pump. Based on decades of experience, Metau magnetic couplings are optimally adapted to the requirements in the polyurethane industry.
The magnetic couplings are available for the various axial piston pump makes and sizes. On the drive side, pump supports and connection hubs are adapted to the common electric motor sizes. The gaps between the rotors and the isolation shell are matched to the typical viscosities of polyol and isocyanate. To avoid eddy current losses, the isolation shells are also available in PEEK material. Appropriate connections are provided for the operation of cooling circuits.
